Anyone who follows the local news recognizes that Walla Walla is like many like size communities...we have our share of significant criminal activity in our neighborhoods. The good news is that Walla Walla is still one of the safest, friendliest, and proactive communities in the state of Washington.

The key to keeping our community safe is the continuous involvement of our citizens – working hand in hand with our area law enforcement agencies. We have a strong cadre of skilled and dedicated volunteers working hard to help us recognize and address law enforcement problems and community neighborhood issues.

Some of our best performing programs include:

  • Block Watch, which is neighbors working in partnership with Law Enforcement to prevent crime and solve crime problems.

  • The Crime Free Rental Housing program is landlords and property managers working to keep rental housing crime free.

  • Graffiti abatement team of volunteers is blasting and painting over graffiti to keep our neighborhoods free of gang markers.

  • The Radar Reader Board hits our streets to remind neighbors to keep to the speed limit. Walla Walla has a great quality of life and we can keep it that way if we all work together.
