The City of Walla Walla is providing an update on the Myra Road South Extension and Howard Street IRRP projects, which have been paused since August 12, 2025, due to an ongoing labor dispute between private construction contractors and their employees. This dispute continues to impact multiple job sites across Eastern Washington.
On Howard Street, a subcontractor has resumed limited work to place and compact gravel in preparation for paving. This work will complete only the base lift; additional asphalt paving will still be required before the roadway can reopen. The Myra Road South Extension project remains on hold.
We appreciate the community’s patience.
