Myra Road and Howard Street Projects Remain on Hold

Post Date:08/20/2025 4:27 p.m.

The City of Walla Walla is advising residents that construction on the Myra Road South Extension and Howard Street IRRP projects, which paused on August 12, 2025, remains temporarily on hold due to a labor dispute between private construction contractors and their employees. This dispute is affecting multiple job sites across Eastern Washington.

At this time, there is no confirmed date for when work will resume. The earliest construction could restart is August 25, 2025. Updates will be shared as soon as more information becomes available.

We appreciate the community’s patience as the City works to complete these critical improvements to replace failing utilities, enhance traffic safety, and strengthen connections within Walla Walla.
