We're asking area residents to fill out a one-question survey that will decide when the New Year’s Eve community fireworks display will begin.

The survey is online at https://form.jotform.com/213356544802050 and will be open until 5 p.m. on Dec. 13, 2021. Survey respondents are able to select one of three options: 8 p.m., 9 p.m., and midnight. We'll start the show at whatever time receives the most votes. The survey results will be announced on Dec. 17.

The display was originally scheduled for July 4, 2021, but City officials on June 29 decided to postpone the event due to the extreme heat and drought conditions at the time.

The fireworks will be launched at Walla Walla Community College and should last around 15 minutes. Western Display will produce the pyrotechnics, which are expected to include some of the largest shells ever launched in the Walla Walla Valley.
